Figure v. Background
This composition is used to bring the focal image of the photo to the forefront so that the viewers eye is snagged and remains engaged with that image. The background is negative space that does not detract from the central image. "Stuck in the Mud" is an image of a fallen limb that some how remains in this position. The raised limb has empty space beneath it adding depth to the image. "BEAUTY" has the image of the growing plant front and center, while the brown planter plays in the background. THe colors work well together to create a harmonious look. In the image, "tranquility" the stone structure is the central image. the eye is guided there through the use of several elements, like leading lines. In using the diagonal lines of the roof edge in CONJUNCTION with the the vertical pillars, the structure seems to come off the page. This effectively separates it from the background
