WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY
Project 3 Part 1 Section 2

I chose to do a photography story on Stone Mountain Park (STP) in Georgia. I chose this location because it a very quiet place close to a congested metropolitan area. STP has over 15 miles of nature trails, including the 1 mile walk up trail that concludes at the top of the mountain. This is a great environment for health enthusiast and those who enjoy nature. One of the trails contains a songbird habitat that is full of creatures and birds. If you want to have company on a 5 mile walk, there are plenty of friendly people traversing the circumference of the mountain. There are campgrounds that accommodate many types of lodging preferences from pop-up tents, RV rentals and Yurts. Other outdoor activities include fishing, canoeing and biking. Additionally, the park has many family attractions like Dinotorium and Sky Hike. At the culmination of your stay at STP there is a laser show. Historical
My photography video will feature people that are in attendance at the park. It will highlight the various activities that people engage in at STP. People enjoy the park year-round but my photos will be taken in July 2018. I selected to use STP as the focus of this video because I think that it is a wonderful place where one can relax and decompress from a busy city life. It also fosters families having fun and enjoying each other’s company without the use of technology.

Once you have your responses in item #2, draft your storyline – most likely an outline. Again, this will provide some guidance when taking your pictures. However, you can edit this later depending on your content (i.e., pictures taken). NOTE: Need to submit a word file for this in the CourseDen drop box. Make sure you follow the correct submission protocol.

Project 3 Part 3 Reflection

Reflection
Introduction
I decided to create my video on the activities that are available at Stone Mountain Park (SMP). It is a place where you can learn a little bit of history and see authentic homes built in the 1800. You can also find many family friendly activities likes dinotorium and the ropes course. There is the nature component with miles of trails to traverse. If you need to relax there is a train ride to partake in or a skyride to the top of the mountain.
Challenges
This was my favorite project, but it did come with its challenges. The biggest challenge I had was selecting the photos for the project. Over the course of three days, I took over 500 images. There was so much to do and see at the park, it was difficult to narrow the images down. Another challenge was the heat. I know that the project did not require us to be outside, but I picked something that I was interested in. Initially I wanted to do something on children of immigrants being separated from the families at the border, but I did not see a realistic way to manage that. Later I found out about rallies taking place within 25 miles of my home. In the future I will do more research regarding issues that are near and dear to my heart. I was able to incorporate in a small manner because there was a man on the walk up trail that was protesting and I was able to photograph him. Another challenge was allotting enough time for each slide to be seen before moving on to the next and staying within the 4-5 minute time frame. I decided to give each image equal time and cut out some of the slides I had began with. Lastly, it was difficult not to put any images with words in them as they guided the viewer through the park. I did remove some of those to narrow the time down to under 5 minutes.
Surprises
I was surprised at how few images I could fit into the allotted time. I began placing all my favorite photos in the moviemaker, setting the time for 4 seconds per image and the video was 15 minutes long. I was not aware of all the historical buildings at Stone Mountain or of all the learning opportunities. There were more attractions than I anticipated and they consumed many of the images I took. I was surprised by this because I have gone to SMP for years to walk on the trails but I did not know of all the other activities that are available.
Contributions
This activity has given me an idea of where I can take my students on a field trip that will be both educational and fun. I think that going through the process of planning out a video gave insight into what students experience when they are planning out a story.
Conclusion
There are many things to take into consideration when you are planning a video. You need to make sure that you adhere to a time
